I remember when I heard her say this and I was like YES!!! This is how I feel about people in general. But to live by this creed, you have to be guarded all the time.
But...Is this any way to live?
I really want to enjoy people without feeling like I have to be on guard all the time, waiting for them to figure out that they don't want to be around.

Oprah's statement was phenomenal. Yours was phenomenaler. (If that is a word).
It's like this with me: I know the tree by its fruit. And the fruit it produces over time. Fruit don't lie. So I think a certain amount of guard is needed. We are living in trying times. I only know that you are a blessing or detriment to my life over a period of time. And you know the same for me.
I think we want it all instant like instant oatmeal. That is not going to happen. (Although I wish it could.)
